Competition expensesEven once we have a fully-built car, we have to transport it to the speedway, pay the entry fee for the competition itself, and cover expenses such as food and hotels. Total cost: $4,140 |
Detailed analysis of costs
First Let'sDesign and Fundraise
As we continue to modify and upgrade our design, we have opted to go for a format more similar to a racecar for the 2020 challenge. We are continuing to approach businesses and individuals in the community for support.

Now let's WORKBuild
With the experience we gained during the 2018-19 season, we opted to construct an entirely new vehicle this year utilizing an on-body solar array while minimizing weight and maximizing power.

IT'S UP TO USCompete
Once completed, our car will compete in the 2020 Solar Car Challenge on the Texas Motor Speedway. Over the course of four days, we will work to complete as many laps of the speedway as possible.
